In a land where silence is rewarded, writers starve

  In the society I was brought up in, one finds no respect for writers, and they are most of the time considered as unpaid servants and persons with no skills. Here, writing is not a skill to anybody but a bizarre field one chooses to go with. First of all, new writers don’t get the chance to ink their words on sheets for any publication until and unless they have strong references. Already the publication houses are less in number, and they always prefer ones with strong backgrounds. Secondly, they don’t get paid for what they write as they are always told by the digital and print media “there are a lot who are requesting for the chances and even ready to write without payment, if you are able to get this chance, consider yourself lucky enough otherwise, there are numerous who can replace you”, then here comes the third point, most of the editors are slackers, they don’t accept if a piece has even little bit of grammatical and concept related issues, they need something perfect so...
