Dear Heart,
Sapphire
I recall your eyes, the garden in them, where jasmines grow and roses bloom. The deep seas they carry, the grief they hold, and the tears they refused to let fall. I have witnessed it all.
Despite everything your heart has endured, your eyes still persuade flowers to bloom; I have seen lilies in them. I believe that is your quiet miracle: the grief visits you, but beauty refuses to leave.
Dark, wide eyes, holding wildflowers, tulips, daisies, and whatnot draw me in, while the oceans within them haunt me day and night.
Until the jasmine forgets its fragrance,
~Zara M.
