Dear Heart, As I recall, Ray Bradbury once said, " We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real? " It makes me realize that being desensitized is not a substantial achievement; sometimes we need to let emotions flow out of us. Suppressing them unsettles our consciousness and strengthens our subconscious state of mind. Understanding that, I am letting my emotions breathe; they are breathing through ink, and I am letting things fluctuate inside me, tensing me to such an extent that hurt could no longer hurt me. With every sip of my coffee, I cannot help but ponder how I have learnt to observe the ache, let it haunt my quiet, and let my nerves learn resilience. Until my next cup, ~Zara M.
