Dear Heart,
While halfway through the collection of Buddhist sayings, Dhammapada, I came across a verse that says clinging to desires is the root cause of suffering, and letting go liberates us. It makes me realise that attaining freedom demands neither resistance nor attachment, but acceptance.
As time gently passes by, my hopes of witnessing words from you are folding into dusk, and I no longer resist your irreversible departure.
Reading another verse that says the mind holds immense power in shaping our reality forces me to cling to hope that things might yet turn around. But in case they do not, I have made peace with it; it has become a part of me.
Until another dawn of thought,
~Zara M.
